Taiwan Trip 15-20 February 2011

A month since the Chinese New Year has just passed. I have come back from my holiday trip to Taiwan.

Me visiting Taipei 101

It was an amazing trip, full of surprises, meeting up with old friends after 10 years, sharing of woman's problem and feelings, culinary journey, sightseeing, drinking session, visit friend's family, and many more.

Reunion with Taiwanese Les Roches students - Thanks for coming!!!

Starting with the worry of travelling alone since my partner wouldn't be able to go as something happened to her family member. In that situation, luckily I gained full of supports from few good friends there. I can't count their kindness for bring helpful to make my trip wonderful. They even appeared on the reunion dinner and drinking night. So glad to be able to see familiar faces.

Ching and I at Dan Shui - Thanks for everything Ching!!!

Shelly and I after the public hotspring - sponsored by Andy :) - Thanks to Shelly for everything too!!!

Managed to see Ping Xi Sky Lantern Festival at Shi Fen. It was held on 15th day of Lunar New Year (Yuan Xiao Jie). Really different from what I imagined. It was held up in the mountain where train was just passing by the area where people passed by the railway just like a common road, so interesting!! If you got a chance, go there once to see!!! Witnessing the sky lanterns being flew together in hundreds... Full of wishes and prays that they expect to come true... :)

Andy, Sharon, and Me w/ our Sky Lantern :)

Even funny when I saw Singapore singer was there to perform some songs to us.. Hahaha... But it was great, really!! Even it was raining during the whole night, it didn't deter us to watch and see...

Show you the video below on how it was looked like over there:

Thank you SB for giving me great health and protection and everything that made my journey great!!! It was really a fate that brought me and others together!!! :)

Happy Prosperous Lunar New Year!!!

It's 8th day of Lunar New Year!!! Huat ahh!!! Happy Rabbit Year!!!

Gong Xi Xin Nian Kuai Le!!! Kiong Hee Fatt Choy!!! Happy Prosperous Chinese New Year!!!
It's rabbit year. Hopefully we survive this year gracefully. It isn't said to be bad, and isn't said to be good either. It depends :) Well, some people would have a good year and some wouldn't, while some would have an average year. There is always good and bad, isn't it?

This year my parents and sis came here. We had a great duan yuan fan, where my parents cooked delicious meal for us, using their cooking skills practiced over years. Hehehee.... We just helped up eating and washing the plates at the end of the meal. Hahahaha....

First round Duan Yuan Fan @Bro's house with parents' home cook dishes

I had second round of duan yuan fan, a sumptuous steamboat meal at home sweet home, prepared by my mother-in-law (mainly). Without her around, we might end up stocking our house with nothing. She did the marketing for all the ingredients. Thanks mother!

Second round of Duan Yuan Fan - Steamboat @ Home Sweet Home

On New Year itself, I went to three houses. First is my hunny's cousin house. His father's families gathered there annualy. It was crowded. I was served with vegetarian food. Thanks to the caring cousin who catered to my need (me and Reever, also families were being vegetarian on 1st day). So his cousin asked his mom to prepare vegetarian food especially for me as the rest were eating as per normal.

After that we went to my hubby's grandma house. We also go there every year when we are here. I was quite hungry in late afternoon and snacking myself with tidbits that Ama prepared (she always has kwa zi, peanuts, and cashew nuts as tidbits). My hubby's uncle entertained me with 2 cans of beers. Oh ya, I had 2 cans as well before that at his cousin house. Hahahaha....

It's Carlsberg time!!!

Last house to visit was my brother's house where I had my vegetarian tang hoon noodle cooked by Mom and Dad. Nyummy.. It warmed up my stomach hehehe...

My bro and families went to MBS. I didn't join them. I accompanied them on 2nd and 3rd day of CNY. We went to Sentosa for both day.

Family Sentosa Outing - 4th Feb 2011

Universal Studio Singapore - 5 February 2011
Me and lovely hubby (his first encounter of USS) @Jurassic Park area

I had quite lots of first time there. First time riding skyride in the rain, first riding luge in the rain (luckily the rain became smaller), first time riding on two wheel Segway (I was moving and bumping when om training as I didn't get used to it. Hahahaha...). In USS, I also experienced first time riding on Galactica Human (sitting on first row - wow! You could see clearly whatever thing in front of you!! It's rock!!), and Cyclon (they really turned you up and down, left and right, 'til you wished that it would end soon.. Hahahhaa..., first time watching interactive donkey show, first time watching Waterworld show in Singapore (I watched once in LA), first time taking the Canopy Flyer in Jurassic Park area (my hubby was sitting beside me, holding my hand tightly, and kept chanting Amituofo... Amituofo... until we reached back to the platform. Hahaha...), first time sitting on Treasure Hunt car (stirred by my son), and many more.

Posed together with Madagascar

It's great! Sometimes you just wanna out of the usual thing, trying something new, and re-alive! Hehehee...

Last Sunday we invited whole families to have steamboat at our house. We really had great food and time. We also had lao he together. Good time passed very fast. My parents and sis and families have returned back to their home on Monday.

Unfortunately good things didn't happen to everyone. On 2nd day, my 3rd sis who lives in Melbourne, reported that there was hail storms and continuously raining at their house. The ceiling in living room, dining room and kitchen area had come down. It scared them very much. The electricity was cut for a while. Luckily they were all fine. There were Indonesian living nearby their house coming over and offered help to them. Lucky that they could help them on time. My sis was hurriedly packing her valuable stuffs and they slept in her neighbor house for a night or two and returned back to their house with no ceiling when the things had been cleared. Now they are worrying of the upcoming rains and afraid that they won't be able to claim for the damage from the insurance. We can just keep praying and hope that it can be claimed.
There were few unlucky incidents happening to her. Hope she is able to get over it and keeps moving on with positive thinking. Jia you Sis!!! There is a rainbow after the rain!!!

Well, I'm counting down for my next trip. Hope everything goes on smoothly. Hope me and my friend would have a safe and enjoyable trip soon. Wish us luck!!

Happy Prosperous Lunar New Year again everyone!! Huat ahh!!!

Just finished my class and now on the way back home. So funny! After work, I have 3 other friends who also went to the same school, same building, same timing, but we didn't meet each other there. Each of us went to different course and different class.

I almost forgot that I had a class today. Lucky I checked the schedule and still not far from home so that I could still go back and get my book, otherwise I would have missed this memorable lesson. :P

Teacher gave us lots of homework but I don't think I will have time to do it since the next class will be this Saturday. My time is packed with working tomorrow and Saturday morning. Hope I would have enough time to do it another time.

As I walked back home, I forgot that I've left something below my table. A thigh of roasted duck. Haiya.... Would be waste if I don't eat it tonight. We had 1 duck and my friends had given me a part of it. I ate a bit this evening, then I hid it below my table as someone came into my office. Then... I forgot to take it back liao.. Hahaha... Not my luck!!

Anyway... Reaching home soon. Wanna watch American Idol. But I think I won't watch it. I need enough rest so that I can do my work properly tomorrow. Another stock-take day. Hope everything will go on smoothly and have a smooth closing.

Counting down.. 2 more days to go.. My parents are coming. 3 more days to go.. My sis and her families are coming... Yihaaaa!!!!!!

One more week to CNY!!! Have you all been exciting and ready for it???? Yeahhhh!!!!! :)

Have bought all the necessities. Prepared the necessaries. Now preparing myself for the busy month-end period. At the same time, eager to wait for the arrival of my parents, sister and her families from HK!

We talked about it early this month and now, in few days time, they are going to come here.

So many people do not feel well and I hope all of us can maintain a good health for this upcoming festival. Have planned some dinner and lunch gathering, also to go to USS with whole families. Wow! Never seen my father goes to amusement park before! Heheehehe.... It's gonna be the first time, and not the last one hopefully! We are all young at heart. Hahahahaha.... :D

Have booked steamboat for next Sunday (6 Feb) at Hougang and hopefully we can have a relaxing and enjoyable dinner before they going back the next day. Hehehehehee....

Can't wait to meet my sis and her families. Children must have grown up and I guess her hubby would still look the same hehehehe... Wish him to win more money at MBS!! As what he'd had before in Macao. Hahahahahaha.....

Well... Hope everyone is having a great mood as well. When the family members are not there, friends would be as good accompany as well! Hope everyone is blessed with good health!!!

Shopping day!!!

Today I took off-on-lieu to replace the New Year public holiday. I woke up at 6am and fetched bao bei to his school. I hadn't done this for quite some time. So, although I slept quite late last night (just to watch the first series of American Idol Season 10 - with new judges: Steve Tayloe (singer of my favorite song - I don't wanna miss a thing) and Jennifer Lopez. Both had brought a better ambience in judging the contestants. Keep it up!)

We had a breakfast first, fried beehoon with fish fillet and seaweed chicken for him and fried kway teow with luncheon meat and fried cabbage for me. Both of us shared teh-o. Nice breakfast!!!

I went back home after that. Tried to sleep again but I couldn't, although I was tired. So I just browsed around the youtube listening to some nice songs and posted it to my fb.

At 12.45pm, I went to his school again and fetched him back. We went to coffee shop to have lunch and met my mother-in-law, younger sis-in-law, and the elder sis-in-law's son. Bao bei and I had chicken rice. He likes eating the chicken rice there while I still prefer the chicken rice near Hougang Central. The children played games and exchanged the tickets to some toys then we went back home.

Bao bei preferred to stay at home. So I went out myself. I went to Tampines. When reached there, I visited bank first to exchange money for CNY. Queued for about half an hour before my turn. Once done, I started to browsed around. There are 3 shopping malls there, so I walked from one place to another. This time I was looking for some working clothes. I need to replenish my working attire due to wear and tear.

I found a nice shirt, but not cheap. But since I liked it, I bought one. A bit scared that I couldn't get any clothes due to my preference and size that is hard to satisfy. Hahahaa.....

Then went to Popular book shop. I bought a new wallet for Bao Bei. His wallet is very old and not in a good condition. He needs a replacement. Hopefully he likes the design that I chose.

I went into Esprit shop and bought a skirt and sleaveless shirt. Both were on sale. But the skirt wasn't cheap either. From original price of $99.90, now became $69.90. That's the last piece. So I thought it was meant for me. The size is just nice and it's a bit short. Need to have some diet in order to be able to wear it nicely. Hahahahaa.... ;P

I went to another shop called Cache Cache and again, quite lucky to find a short sleeve shirt and normal shirt for working. I paid less than $50 for these 2 pieces. Waaa... Spent quite a lot money today, but felt happy. I have found what I want. So I plan to have more sleep tomorrow. When I woke up, have breakfast, take a bath, then to manage my whole wardrobe. To get rid of those not in good condition and replace it with new one.

I'm on the way home now inside the bus. Enjoy ur weekend!!
