As we get older, we should have experienced things that younger people not experienced before. We have seen more things surrounding us, experienced more events not only internally, but also externally (worldwide affairs).
We have met, known and lost more people throughout that journey of life.
Our mind should have grown and aim to be a better person than we used to too, not the other way around.
By middle age, we should aim to have been wiser, knowing what is right and wrong.
Letting go have become easier, especially the wrong people, toxic relationship / friendship, mistakes we made in life, etc.
From the dictionary:
Wise - (adj.) having the power of discerning and judging properly as to what is true or right
Wiser - (adj.) having or showing understanding and good judgment: having or showing deep knowledge or learning.
